Now That’s What I Call “Frosting!”

Okay, Frosting Day gave us a lot to talk about!

The event was a huge success. We had an awesome turnout with a full lineup of community events and tons of chaotic fun. If you were there, you already know that, but if you missed it, then this is your chance to catch up on the highlights!

Frosting Day brought the community together for our biggest celebrations of the year!

We had a little bit of everything. There was a music video premiere (which in case you missed it, you can watch it here), a massive gift exchange, a bunch of games including some murder mystery nonsense and the big annual awards show!

A super-huge thanks to everyone who joined, hosted, submitted, voted, asked questions, made art, cracked jokes or just hung out and helped make the big day feel big special!

Of course Frosting Day also means our annual creator awards, The Slushies, where the community voted for some of their favorite creators across the site.

We caught up with our resident teddy bear @StuffedFur to find out how they make their profile page so charmingly diverse and unique! Here’s what he had to say!

Q. Can you describe your creative process? How do you approach starting and completing a new piece?
A. I have basic starting prompts for various characters and styles. When I get an idea, I build on those with specifics. The process is so streamlined now I sometimes only need a single generation to make something I like for the daily prompt.

Q. How has your style or medium evolved over time, and what drove those changes?
A. Most of my style evolution was forced by the capabilies of the models available. A lot of my earlier stuff has more detailed fur because Yiffymix was really good at that. I lost that in transition to newer models that were more capable in other areas that made up for it. I learned quality prompt writing from Shaitansedai using Solarmix. I developed a standard style that didn't work very well for Teddiursa, so I made a separate prompt for her. When Lyra came out, her style prompt really came into its own, and I've adopted it for much of my art. That particularly relates to the emphasis on cuteness.

Q. What message or emotion do you hope viewers take away from your work?
A. I like to make cute and sexy stuff, finding that balance where those two very different visceral reactions to stimuli balance out in harmony. It's supposed to make people happy to look at, simple as that.

Q. Is there a way you keep all your OCs? You have such a lot of them.
A. I don't really have all THAT many compared to some more prolific community members. That said, I have two main ways of organizing them. First, each OC has their own separate dream thread on Frosting. Second, I use the "OC prompts" section on the Frosting Discord to catalogue and share the prompts.

Q. I saw you make a cool fusion before but I can't do it good do you have a tip for making a fusion?
A. Fusions are often pretty simple if you know the trick. First, make sure you have "solo" in the prompt so it doesn't try to make two characters. Then, put the names of the two characters together without commas with the word "fusion." Example: [teddiursa Ranma_chan fusion] (I've posted a SFW image of this example on Frosting). If one of the characters is significantly better represented in art, the AI may focus too much on it. In that case, adding weight to one over the other can help.
