The Frosting Sleigh Ride

Alright, so, December. End of the year. And Frosting’s had a big one. I’ve been thinking about everything that landed over the past twelve months, and it’s kind of wild how much changed. So here’s the quick rundown of the year.

New Models
So, looking back, this year we’ve just kept rolling out new models.

We started in March with Polaris, our first big step into smooth 3D-style video motion. Same month, we added Solarmix XL and Supernova XL, two strong image models.

In June, Sirius and Alpha Centauri Flux arrived, Polaris without the restrictions and the “just describe what you want” model that became a community favorite.

July brought the Lite models with Bluepencil XL, Dreamshaper XL and Compass Mix XL, giving free-tier users access to lighter versions of popular tools, plus Lynx One, the start-frame/end-frame video model.

And in October, we capped the year with Phoenix, our most realistic model yet, instantly becoming the go-to for natural, lifelike images and videos.

Frosting 2.0

And hey, before I forget, there is one more thing on the horizon.
We’ve been working on a pretty major Frosting update behind the scenes. It’s a big one. The kind where everything gets a little smoother, a little cleaner, a whole lot nicer to use.

Can’t say much yet, but it’s coming.

Quality of Life Upgrades
Between all the big flashy model drops, there were tons of smaller updates that changed day-to-day use:

Community Events
The hangouts this year got huge. Like, amazingly huge at times. And we started getting Mini Hangouts, which turned into this constant hum of community events: art sessions, game streams, experimental games and random chaos. It made the server feel alive in a totally different way.

Frosting Day was a whole thing again, complete with the Slushies, Q&A, the usual mix of fun, nonsense, and people showing up with their best work.

Holiday Hangout
We’re planning a special Hangout event for the holiday season. There will be cool opportunities to give and receive gifts with all your favorite community members, a Secret Santa game to exchange custom art and of course lots of Christmas themed prompt rounds to get everyone in the holiday spirit! Keep an eye out for it over on the Frosting Discord Server!
